These Terms of Service apply to the use of maegec.com and purchases made from Maegec.

By placing an order or confirming a commission, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Shipping, Return & Refund and Privacy Policies.
1. Artworks
Maegec offers original, limited-edition, numbered and commissioned artworks.
Each artwork is individually made. Natural stones, resin and hand-finished materials may show variations in colour, texture, placement, reflectivity and finish.
Fine hairline marks, polishing or brushing traces and natural material variations are not considered defects where the artwork otherwise corresponds to its description.
Product photographs aim to represent artworks accurately, but colours and reflections may vary between screens and lighting conditions.
2. Orders
An order is subject to acceptance and availability.
Maegec may cancel an order before fulfilment where reasonably necessary, for example because of an incorrect price, technical error, unavailable artwork or circumstances making fulfilment impossible. Any amount paid for a cancelled order will be refunded.
Prices and applicable delivery costs are shown or communicated before the purchase is confirmed.
3. Payments
Available payment methods are shown at checkout.
For commissioned artworks, a 50% advance payment confirms the commission and reserves a place in the studio queue.
The remaining balance is arranged in accordance with the agreed proposal and applicable consumer law. Customers may choose to settle the remaining balance earlier where offered.
4. Commissions
Commission details — including direction, dimensions, materials, price, estimated lead time and shipping — are agreed before confirmation.
Commissions are created individually and are artistic interpretations of the agreed direction. References to previous Maegec works do not constitute a promise of an exact reproduction.
Changes requested after confirmation may result in additional costs or a revised lead time.
Commission deposits are non-refundable where permitted by applicable law once the commission is confirmed and a studio slot has been reserved or materials have been sourced.
Custom-made or clearly personalised artworks may be excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal where permitted by law.
5. Shipping
Maegec currently ships within the European Union.
Ready-made artworks are normally prepared for dispatch within up to 7 business days.
Commission timelines depend on the studio queue, material sourcing and complexity of the work. The applicable estimate is communicated during the commission process.

6. Returns and problems with an artwork
Rights relating to withdrawal, returns, damaged goods and refunds are explained in our Return & Refund Policy.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law.
7. Intellectual property
All artworks, photographs, designs, text, graphics and other Maegec content remain the intellectual property of Maegec or the relevant rights holder.
Purchasing an artwork transfers ownership of the physical artwork only. It does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.
Artwork and website content may not be commercially reproduced, copied, modified or used without prior written permission.
8. Website use
You may use this website for lawful personal purposes.
You must not interfere with the operation or security of the website, misuse its content or use Maegec intellectual property without permission.
9. Liability
Maegec is responsible for its obligations under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, Maegec is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control or for indirect business or commercial losses arising from consumer purchases.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where doing so would not be permitted by law.
10. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to Maegec, our services or applicable law.
The Terms applicable to an order are those made available to you when that order or commission is confirmed. Updated Terms do not retroactively change an existing agreement.
12. Governing law
These Terms and agreements with Maegec are governed by Dutch law.
If you are a consumer residing elsewhere in the European Union, this choice of law does not remove any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the laws applicable in your country of residence.
