The artist
Claudia Solé
Born in Venezuela and raised in the Canary Islands, Claudia Solé is an Amsterdam-based artist and designer. Her fascination with natural stones began in childhood, collecting volcanic rocks across the islands.
Trained in industrial design in Barcelona, she went on to work with internationally recognised studios, including Marcel Wanders and Studio Piet Boon.
Her practice brings together natural gemstones and contemporary materials, exploring the relationship between nature, symbolism and the objects we choose to live with. From this exploration, Maegéc was born.

Each original artwork is composed and made by hand in Amsterdam, bringing together the organic and the industrial, the symbolic and the tangible.

Stones are sourced from trusted suppliers and chosen for their colour, shape and character. Their natural variations make each one distinct.
Where do the stones come from? →“After research and sourcing stones, everything is on the line. The resin enters the scene, and I have only one chance to make it work. That’s where the technique and craftsmanship come in.”

From sketch to finished piece
The process starts with sketches and studies around the stones. Compositions, resin colours and material combinations are tested before a piece is made. Once complete, each artwork rests in the studio for about a week while the resin cures.

Authenticity
Signed and documented
Every artwork is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, year, materials and edition number. On the reverse of the pieces you’ll find the corresponding signage.
