about

Claudia Solé

Claudia Solé is a multidisciplinary designer and artist based in Amsterdam.

She trained at two of the Netherlands most influential design studios, Marcel Wanders and Studio Piet Boon, where she developed a refined understanding of materiality, craftsmanship and symbolic heritage.

Her work bridges industrial precision with emotional resonance.

Maegéc is her art practice.

From design to symbolic art.

Beyond function, her work began exploring how materials carry meaning.

The art practice

"I am interested in how people project meaning onto art, objects and beauty.

How color influences perception.
How throughout
centuries people attached symbolism to stones.
How art can influence the atmosphere of a space."

Each piece studies the dialogue between opposites:

Natural and Industrial materials
Symbolic and Literal meanings
Origins and Future of humanity

Maegéc is where color psychology, cultural meaning and material contrast meet luxury.

Color Psychology

Color is not decorative. It shapes perception; it can calm, energize or soften a space.

I study how tone interacts with light and surface, and how those interactions subtly influence atmosphere.

Cultural Symbolism

Minerals have carried meaning across civilizations: protection, strength, tenderness, clarity…

I am interested in these inherited narratives, not as belief, but as cultural memory.

Maegéc recontextualizes ancient symbolism within contemporary interiors.

Material Contrast

Stainless steel is precise and reflective.
Resin and mineral elements are organic and irregular.

This duality creates beauty and opens up dialogues:

How can we live in a engineered world while honoring our natural origins?

Limited editions

Produced in small editions and occasional bespoke commissions.

Each piece is designed to shift how a room feels through composition, contrast and narrative embedded in form.
